Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Local host for Weekend Edition for Northwest Public Broadcasting (NWPB), you will serve as a fill-in host for Morning Edition and All Things Considered as assigned.
You will also voice radio, television, and digital programs including live local announcements during news programming, newscasts, and music programs.
Additionally, you will be responsible for producing live and pre-recorded elements, such as underwriting announcements and station promotional and fundraising spots as assigned.
You will be responsible for producing station content as assigned for broadcast and digital platforms including writing stories, web postings, audio editing and reporting.
You will also need to travel to conduct interviews and meet with individuals visiting local communities to produce content/stories.
Required Qualifications: A relevant Bachelor's degree AND one (1) year full-time professional radio broadcast experience in one of the following areas: gathering, writing, editing and producing materials for radio; classical music announcing; or hosting NPR network programming.
Experience in radio on-air broadcasting may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for education and professional radio experience.
Experience with live board operation.
Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in public radio.
Competence in using Windows computer operating systems.
Digital production experience.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
