Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Pharmacy Director, performs clinical and professional pharmaceutical work in the compounding and dispensing of drugs and IV supplies.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Education
PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Certifications:
ACLS preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
IV admixture experience preferred.
Required Licenses
Current licensure as a Pharmacist in the state of Idaho or eligible for licensure within six months of hire.
Essential Functions:
Prepares, fills, and compounds drug and IV orders by physicians and other authorized personnel.
Responsible for aspects of procurement, storage, and distribution of biological and pharmaceutical products.
Stores and preserves biologicals, vaccines, and serums.
Maintains narcotic inventory and other records such as inventory, prescriptions, and quality assurance.
Supervises and trains intern-pharmacists.
Charges patients' medicines.
Is available to other hospital personnel and the medical staff to answer questions and dispense drug information.
Provide drug and drug therapy information.
Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems.
Manage drug therapy protocols as part of the physician-pharmacist-nurse team.
Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients, families, and caregivers with the goal of optimizing care.

Frequent fingering to type, write, and use the phone and computer.
Constant talking, hearing, and seeing to interact with patient and other healthcare providers with frequent visual acuity sufficient to count and dispense medication.

Occasional exposure to toxic and caustic chemical with chemotherapeutic medications.
