Seeking full time Environmental Services Tech.
for our surgery department.
Position is Monday-Friday.
Job Summary:
Maintains hospital patient care areas in a clean and orderly condition to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
Follows directions, work schedules, procedures, methods and instructions with regards to the use of specific supplies and equipment.
Equipment maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
The ability to read and understand product labeling and comprehend simple mixing measurements.
Ability to understand specific verbal or written instructions and procedures.
No experience required.
Prefer previous knowledge of hospital cleaning techniques.
Essential Functions:
Report to supervisor at the beginning of each shift to check changeover log for priority assignments.
Check with other members of shift periodically during the shift to coordinate priority cleaning.
Report any and all equipment, structural, and/or functional repairs needed on the daily check sheet.
Ensure cleanliness of supply and equipment rooms.
Restock and clean carts after using them.
Complete soiled utility runs as needed.

Functional Demands:
Population Served
Inpatient/Outpatient type Patient Care Areas as: Newborn, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
Offices and public areas of Gritman Medical Center and off-campus facilities.
Physical Demands
Lifting: Maximum of 35 lbs.
knee to shoulder height of items as: Solution containers, mop buckets, trash & linen bags.
Push/Pull: Moderate force required to push full laundry bins, minimal force for cleaning supplies vacuums and mops.
Manual Dexterity: High degree required to manipulate bottles; to clean in small areas; substantial standing, kneeling, and stooping.
Environmental Conditions
Inside with occasional outside work.
Frequent exposure to wet conditions with water, disinfecting and mopping solutions.
Frequent exposure of toxic or caustic chemicals in dealing with cleaning supplies.
Occasional exposure to biomedical and pharmaceutical waste with lab boxes and sharps containers, and suction canisters.
