Designer crossbred sheep in natural color and white.
We are done with sheep shearing and start shearing the Angora goats next month.
Goats come in all colors and color combinations.
Wool is white, solid color or variegated color.
I have wool good for spinning, good for felting, or good for anything.
Some are similar to Merino, some similar to Finn, some are similar to down breeds, but all are unique.
No spinning fleece is under 3.
5 inches in length and the longest is 5.
5 inches.
Most are fine for close to the skin wear, some are medium fine for more durable outerwear, and a couple are coarse for durable projects like rugs.
We are preparing for fiber shows, so now is the time to pick through for the most popular fleeces that usually sell first.
None are coated, so there will be some VM and sun bleaching.
We tried to shear before the mud became too much of a problem, but some are dirtier than normal.
Prices are adjusted down for amount of contaminants.
Fleeces are skirted at shearing time to remove major
contaminants, tags, etc.
Prices for wool range from $5-$45 per fleece depending on type, size, and color.
We only kept back 24 fleeces for spinners and crafters this year, so supply is limited.
Fall clip goat mohair is also available now, so you don't have to wait until March shearing if you are interested in mohair.
Our first sale is in mid-March, so time is limited if you want the pick of the litter.
Pictured first are a few of the fleeces available this year.
Some of our previous fleeces after scouring and carding in photo 5.
Last 3 photos are of some of our angora mohair in red and black/white.
