Job Description
The Water Exercise Instructor (WEX) upholds the highest standard of excellence in regards to safety, service, and professional development.
The WEX Instructor develops and implements recreational swimming programs, leads others by example, and uses knowledge and experience to provide the highest quality of aquatic and fitness programming.

Nature of Work
The job requires that the employee work a flexible shift to accommodate the needs of management, patrons and student employees.
This may include early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, holidays and possibly multiple shifts per day.
Hours of Employment:
Flexible scheduling, ideally with a minimum of 2 hours/week and 15 hours/week maximum.
(Can combine hours with other job descriptions to meet the maximum hours).
May need to work 6 days / week and / or split shifts.
Scheduling is based on the staff seniority system.
No minimum hours are guaranteed.
Job Responsibilities
Uphold a high standard of professionalism including and not limited to Safety, Customer Service, and Professional Development.
Consistently demonstrate an organized lesson plan or workout plan.
Maintain all necessary certification for position.
Provide copies of certification to Aquatics Program Coordinator.
Positively represent the PAFC and have knowledge of all PAFC WEX programs.
Other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Coordinators.
Minimum Qualifications
Current certification by Aquatic Exercise Association as an Aquatic Fitness Professional required (or the ability to obtain within the first six months)
Knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, health and wellness
Willingness to achieve continuing education credits (CEC"s) for ongoing re-certification, potentially at own cost.
Preferred Qualifications
1-year experience teaching group land or water exercise classes
Aqua Zumba, yoga or specialized class training and certification
Uniform Requirements
Navy blue or black sport pants/leggings or shorts
Facility issued t-shirt or tank
OR
Females; must be a one piece with sport shorts (shorts must be at or past fingertip length)
Males; board shorts (shorts must be at or past fingertip length) Disclaimer
